A Haunting at Ilhaven Hall (solos for unaccompanied violin)

"A Haunting at Ilhaven Hall" was written for Lindsey Gibson. Lindsey's birthday is on Halloween and she loves the spooky fun of the day, so I created an imaginative work about a person entering and exploring an old haunted house. A wide array of techniques on the violin depict the house and its occupants—creaking doors, crawling mice, wailing ghosts. The rest is left up to your imagination! What other spooky discoveries will you find inside the house, and what happens on our adventure? This work is part of a series in collaboration with Claire Allen and her studio to create new works for violin.
